When we came back we found some snow that was not gone, but you can see the rest of the snow.

Scotland The Loch Ness monster

Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world visit Loch Ness in Scotland. They hope to see the sea monster, Nessie. Many people say that Nessie lives in the dark waters of the lake. Three people tell their stories.

One of my friends was swimming across the lake. Suddenly a giant water beast appeared with a great roar and open mouth. I said to the monster: Do not touch that man. Quick, go back! The monster obeyed me. I knew then that nobody would ever be hurt by the monster.

I was driving past the lake when I saw movement in the water. I took a photograph of the monster. It had a long neck and a thick body. The London Daily Mail newspaper published my photograph. Some people did not believe this was the monster. They said it was plants in the water or perhaps the tail of an otter.

The UK is home to many mysteries and legends. We asked people to vote on the UK,s greatest mysteries. The story of the Loch Ness monster came first. I think this is because people are fascinated by the things we do not understand.
